Welcome to our website!
We hope you find all the information you need but please feel free to give us a ring if there is something else you want to know.
We are very proud of our school and enjoy showing people around, so if you are interested in joining our community, as a pupil, parent or member of staff, please contact us to arrange a tour.
Ashford St Mary’s provides a supportive and stimulating Christian environment where all children feel valued and able to develop their full potential in God’s ever changing world.
It is a large school, with 420 pupils aged between 4 and 11. We are situated in the centre of Ashford and our pupils come from a wide range of backgrounds.
Our school building is spacious and well resourced. Art and music are particular strengths of the school and that is immediately apparent as you enter the building. Our two playgrounds provide ample equipment and space for children to play as well as areas to be quieter if they wish.
There is an independent nursery attached to the school as well as a breakfast and after school club. We also offer a wide range of extra-curricular clubs and activities to enhance the children’s learning.
We believe that it is important to forge strong links with parents and with the local community and, amongst other things, run a number of clubs and courses for parents or for whole families to take part in together. Our Parent Support Officer is an important point of contact for families. The school also has close links with St Mary’s Church and other Christian groups.
Although our pupils achieve well, we are interested in more than just results. We aim to provide an inspiring, stimulating and enjoyable education for all our pupils, introducing them to a wealth of exciting experiences across the whole curriculum.

'Save the Children' Christmas jumper day
December 12, 2024
If your child doesn't already have a Christmas jumper, there is no need to buy one; have fun decorating an old jumper or top with tinsel, decorations, stickers, anything Christmassy, or they may like to wear a Christmas hat or or Christmas headband instead!
Please note, this is not a non school uniform day, so the children should wear a Christmas jumper in place of their school sweatshirt/cardigan and if they choose to wear a hat or headband they must wear full school uniform.
