PE & Sports Premium Report
The PE and Sport Premium is a government funding initiative for primary schools in England designed to enhance the provision of PE and sports. This grant is aimed at helping schools improve the quality and range of PE and sports activities offered to pupils, encouraging healthy lifestyles and physical well-being.
Primary schools receive funding based on the number of pupils they have in year 1-6, with the expectation that it will be used to create sustainable improvements in PE. Schools are encouraged to spend the money on training staff, providing new equipment, increasing the participation of children in sports, or developing after-school sports programs. The Department for Education suggests that this funding is used to achieve long-term sustainable enhancement of PE and sport.
